 HON. LADY JUSTICE RUTH NEKOYE SITATI
 Judge of the High Court

Hon. Lady Justice Ruth Nekoye Sitati first joined the Judiciary as a District Magistrate II (Professional) on 29th September 1976. At the end of 1979, she resigned from the Judiciary to join the corporate world, first as Company Secretary of the then Kenya External Telecommunications Company, and later, between 1986 and 1989, as Secretary to the Corporation of the then Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation.

Hon. Lady Justice Sitati left the Corporation at the end of 1989 and in early 1990 set up her firm of private legal practice which she ran until her elevation to the High Court Bench in April 2004.

As a Judge of the High Court, Hon. Lady Justice Sitati has handled criminal, civil, commercial and family law cases at both original and appellate jurisdictions. She finds the work both challenging and exciting.

Lady Justice Sitati has undergone training under the Jurisprudence for Equality Programme run jointly by the International Women Judges and Kenya Women Judges Associations, on children and women issues in light of the international conventions governing women and children. Lady Justice Sitati has also undergone training on the Sexual Offences Act under the GJLOS.

Lady Justice Sitati has served as the Chairperson of the Nairobi Branch of the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) between 2000 and 2002. She currently volunteers for the Inter-Christian Fellowships Mission (IcFEM), a charitable organization based at Kimilili in Bungoma Dsitrict. IcFEM is a leading Non-Governmental Organization whose mission is to accelerate community transformation through holy living and hard work.

Lady Justice Sitati also holds a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST).
