IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 8C of the Civil Aviation Act, the Minister for Transport and Communications makes the following Regulations:—

THE CIVIL AVIATION (LICENSING OF AIR SERVICES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2003

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Licensing of Air Services) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003.

2. The Civil Aviation (Licensing of Air Services) Regulations (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations) are amended by deleting the expression "Civil Aviation Board" wherever it occurs and substituting thereof the expression "Kenya Civil Aviation Authority".

3. The principal Regulations are amended by deleting the word "Director" wherever it occurs and substituting thereof the expression "Director-General".

4. The principal Regulations are amended by deleting the expression "Chairman of the Civil Aviation Board" wherever it occurs and substituting thereof the expression "Director-General".

(No. 3 of 1997)

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 55 of the Retirement Benefits Act, 1997, the Minister for Finance makes the following Regulations:—

THE RETIREMENT BENEFITS (OCCUPATIONAL RETIREMENT BENEFIT SCHEMES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2003

1. These Regulations may be cited as The Retirement Benefits (Occupational Retirement Benefits Schemes) (Amendment) Regulations, 2002.

2. The Retirement Benefits (Occupational Retirement Benefits Schemes) Regulations, 2002, are amended in regulation 7 by inserting the following new paragraph immediately after paragraph (o)—

(oo) the period upon which a member may withdraw his benefits from the scheme:

Provided that such period shall not exceed ninety days from the date of retirement or of giving notice of such withdrawal, as the case may be.

THE RETIREMENT BENEFITS (FORMS AND FEES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2003

1.These Regulations may be cited as the Retirement Benefits (Forms and Fees) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003.

2.The Retirement Benefits (Forms and Fees) Regulations, 2002, are amended—

(a) in the First Schedule, by- inserting the following new paragraph in Part E of Form A2, immediately after paragraph (ii)—

"(iii) CMA registration certificate (if registered by the Capital Markets Authority)".

(b) in the Second Schedule, by repealing paragraph 3.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Wildlife (Conservation and Management) (National Parks) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003, and shall come into operation on 1st April, 2003.

2. For the purposes of these Regulations, National Parks shall be categorised as follows—

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Privileges and Immunities Act, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation makes the following Order:—

THE PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES (THE AFRICAN VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY (AVU)) ORDER, 2002

1. This Order may be cited as the Privileges and Immunities (The African Virtual University (AVU)) Order, 2002.

2. The African Virtual University (AVU), in this Order referred to as the "AVU" being an organization of which the Government of the Republic of Kenya and other Governments- are members, is declared to be an organization to which section 9 of the Act shall apply.

3. The AVU shall have—

(a) the legal capacity of a body corporate; and

(b) the privileges and immunites specified in part 1 of the Fourth Schedule to the Act.

4. Notwithstanding paragraph 3 (b) of this Order, the exemption from rates and taxes under paragraphs 3 of Part 1 of the Fourth Schedule to the Act, shall be limited to the exemptions made under Article 23, of the First Schedule to the Act.

5. Any person who is an employee of the AVU shall, while residing in Kenya and performing duties in the service of the AVU, have the privileges and immunities specified in paragraphs 2 to 7 of Part III of the Fourth Schedule to the Act:

Provided that the provisions of this paragraph shall not apply to employees of the AVU who are Kenya citizens or to any person who is ordinarily resident in Kenya, except solely for the purpose of being an employee of, and working exclusively for AVU.

PRESCRIPTION OF EFFECTIVE TICK DESTROYING AGENT

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Cattle Cleansing Act, the Director of Veterinary Services prescribes the following preparation, details of which are specified in the Schedule, to be an effective tick destroying agent for the purposes of the Act.

SCHEDULE

A suspension in water of "AMITIK 12.5 per cent" brand of diamidide, N-Methylbis (2,4-xylyliminomethyl) amine containing not less than 0.025 per cent active principle and stabilized with a suspension of not less than 0.5 per cent calcium hydroxide in the wash giving a pH of 11-12, when such' a suspension is used for cattle cleansing by submersion at intervals of not more than seven days.

1. This Order may be cited as the Standards Order, 2002.

2. Kenya standards having been declared for the several commodities and methods and procedures set out in the first and second columns of the Schedule, no person shall manufacture or sell those commodities or use those methods or procedures on or after forty-two (42) days of the date of publication of this Order unless the commodities and methods or procedures comply with the requirements of the relevant Kenya Standards.
