Kenya Law Team-Building Event in Mombasa, November 2014
November 25, 2014
In the corporate world where there is cut throat competition, attention is focused on delighting the customer and sometimes businesses forget about their most valued asset — employees. Participating in team building and taking employees out of the office helps groups break down political and personal barriers, eliminate distractions and ultimately improves productivity and motivation. With this in mind, Kenya Law management organized a team building event at the Travellers Beach hotel in Mombasa from November 13 to November 15, 2014.
Kenya Law sought the expertise of a consultant who combined icebreakers, energizers and other team building activities. These activities warmed up the participants and were a fun way to start the process of building a strong team. They allowed Kenya Law employees to get to know each other better, practice different styles of communication, make group decisions, solve problems, work with people they wouldn’t ordinarily interact with, test leadership skills, and laugh together. Energizers helped in the renewal of the group as well as release any existing tension.
On the last day of the retreat, the employees were treated to a colourful African themed gala dinner coupled with a smooth blend of African music. The Ag. CEO Mr. Long’et Terer thanked the staff for their cooperation and urged everyone to have a positive attitude towards work so as to reach the organization’s objective. “There are many organizations that do the work that we do but they are not award winning Institutions as we are. It is because of our commitment and attitude towards our work.” He said.
This team building exercise is now a Kenya Law tradition and is done every year.
