 DEDUCTION OF AGENCY FEES

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 49 (1) of the Labour Relations Act (No. 14 of 2007), the Minister for Labour makes the following order:

  1. The Alpha Knits Limited, to deduct from the wages of each unionisable employee who is not a member of Tailors and Textile Workers Union herein referred to as the “union” but is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (RCA No. 43 of 2010) between the union and the Alpha Knits Limited a sum equal to two (2.5%) from the basic wages of every employee who earns more than Ksh. 2,500 per month.
  2. Deductions to commence within thirty (30) days of receiving the Order.
  3. To remit within ten ((10) days the sums deducted under Item (a) by crossed cheque made payable to the union into that Union’s account No. 0013194009 at the Transnational Bank Limited Account No.

INVITATION OF PUBLIC COMMENTS

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) has received an environmental impact assessment study report for the proposed housing development.

The proposed project will involve construction of Four Hundred and Twenty One Town Houses typical of having three bedrooms, living room, guest room, dining, kitchen veranda and store; shops and drilling of a borehole.

The proposed site is located in Athi River bordering Syokimau Farm to the South off Mombasa Road, to access the site; the shortest route from Nairobi City centre is via Haille Sellaise Road, Uhuru Highway, Mombasa Road.

The project anticipates the impacts and mitigation measures set out in the gazette.

The project involves the construction of approximately 44 km of a single circuit 132kV transmission line from Kisii to Awendo to improve the performance of the West Kenya network to cater for the increasing load growth and meet the 2030 vision objective.

The project anticipates the impacts and mitigation measures set out in the gazette.

REPORT FOR THE PROPOSED OLKARIA-NAROK-BOMET-SOTIK AND KISII-SONDU 1312 KV TRANSMISSION LINES
 
INVITATION OF PUBLIC COMMENTS

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) has received an environmental impact assessment study report for the proposed Olkaria-Narok-Bomet-Sotik and Kisii-Sondu 132kV transmission lines. 

The project involves the construction of approximately 186 km of a single circuit 132kV transmission line from Naivasha (Olkaria ) to Sotik via Narok and Bomet and 45 km from Kisii to Sondu to improve the performance of the West Kenya Network to cater for the increasing load growth and meet vision 2030 objectives.

The Olkaria-Narok-Bomet-Sotik 132kV transmission line traverses Hell’s Gate National park, through settled areas, shrubs and savanna spanning about 186 km. The transmission line will end at Kegati substation in Kisii from the Sondu Miriu Power station in Sondu-Miriu Power plant. The Kisii-Sondu transmission line traverses through settled areas, shrubs spanning about 45 kms.

The project anticipates the impacts and mitigation measures set out in the gazette.

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) has received an environmental impact assessment study report for the proposed petrol station.

The project involves installation of additional underground tanks and pumps on their plot to improve access to fuel in the town.

The proposed site is set to cover 0.0367 Ha and is to be set on plot No KSM/7/195,  Kisumu Municipality. The plot is located off Odinga Odinga Road, near Swan Center in Kisumu Town.

The project anticipates the impacts and mitigation measures set out in the gazette.

INVITATION OF PUBLIC COMMENTS

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority, (NEMA) has received an environmental impact assessment study report for the proposed liquefied petroleum gas distribution terminal.

The project entails the development of an LPG distribution facility. This will comprise a depot off-take which will primarily be via a proposed LPG distribution terminal to be built adjacent to the LPG storage facility. The distribution terminal will have both road and rail loading facilities and possibility an LPG  cylinder filling and bottling plant in the Miritini area of Kilindini District, Mombasa.

The project anticipates the impacts and mitigation measures set out in the gazette.
